SCOTT SPREITZER'S MLB HEAVY HITTER GOM! 20-7 Run!
I'm backing the Boston Red Sox on Friday night. A chance to exact a little revenge this weekend for Boston. They Sox dropped the final three games of a four-game set to Minnesota at Fenway earlier this month. The Twins out-scored Boston 26-12 in the three wins, but I expect a reversal of fortune in this one. Clay Buchholz is off to a tremendous start in 2013 and he'll be backed by a lineup that plates over 5 rpg in road night games against right-handers. Vance Worley has been slammed for a 7.15 ERA & 1.95 WHIP through eight starts this season. The righty has allowed a whopping 30 hits in his last three starts, spanning just 15 innings of work. Worley looks a lot like SFO's Ryan Vogelsong in that we better go against him while he's still in the rotation, because he may not be for long. The Sox own some ridiculously strong situations in this one. They're on a 7-1 run as a road favorite for one. They're 37-14 when Buchholz is priced as a favorite, including 17-5 as a road favorite. Meanwhile, the Twins have won just 14 of their last 56 against pitchers with a WHIP of less than 1.15. Buchholz fits the bill (1.04). Finally, the Sox are on a 5-1 run in Minnesota. I'm laying the price with Boston on Friday night. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S MLB ROAD WARRIOR! 20-7 Run!
I'm backing the KC Royals on Friday night. After a terrific start to the season, the Oakland A's have been struggling, winning just 2 of their last 10 games. In fact, their home record of 10-10 is a 1/2 game worse than Kansas City's 10-9 road mark. Tonight's pitching advantage lies heavily on the side of the visitor. Royals' righty James Shields has been terrific on the season and he's pitched well on the road. Tonight, I not only expect another strong performance from Shields, but I also expect plenty of support at the plate. The Royals average 6 rpg in road night games against right-handers and will face Jarrod Parker. The Oakland righty is suffering through a tough first two months of the season, especially at home where he's been tagged for a 9.61 ERA & 1.98 WHIP in four starts. Besides their 2-8 slide, the A's are 0-5 when Parker starts against teams with a winning record and they're 0-4 when he throws on four days rest. More of the same. I'm backing the KC Royals on Friday night. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S NBA BLOCKBUSTER BLOWOUT! 6-1 Run
I'm backing the Spurs on Thursday night. Mark Jackson has made major strides with the Golden State Warriors, but I'm looking for their season to come to an end against a powerful Spurs' squad in close-out mode. San Antonio has made the right adjustments defensively on Klay Thompson and Steph Curry and the dynamics have changed quickly in this series. The Warriors have gone from scoring 100 points and 106 points in regulation in the first two games of this series, to scoring 92, 84, and 91 points in the last three games. Curry and Thompson have combined to make just 30-of-87, 34.5% of their shots in the last three games, including just 12 made 3-pointers. David Green, Kawhi Leonard, and Gary Neal have done a fantastic job of holding Golden State's scorers in check and Andrew Bogut has been in foul trouble quite often. It's simply a case of the better team and the better coached team making the adjustments. And finally, road teams, playing .600 to .750 basketball, off a double digit home win are 51-23 ATS against teams playing .510 to .600 basketball. I'm laying the short points with the Spurs on Thursday. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S MLB RARE MATCHUP MISMATCH! 19-7!
I'm backing the red-hot Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. Francisco Liriano came back to the "bigs" with a strong performance and I expect more of the same against the Brewers. Liriano struck-out nine batters in his 2013 debut and he is just a few seasons removed from a 201 strikeout season. We'll hear that Milwaukee owns a strong team batting average against southpaws, but the fact is, they don't score runs against lefties, averaging just over 3.5 rpg in road games against them and they don't win against lefties (more on that in a bit). Hiram Burgos got off to a good start, but was slaughtered last time out when left in the game too long to give the Brewer bullpen rest. I expect some "carry-over" into this one against the red-hot Pirates who have won five of their last six, including the first two games of this series. Milwaukee enters on a 12-30 slide as a road dog. They're 1-10 within the division and the Brewers are on a 0-5 slide against left-handers (1-15 combined spots). So much for hitting southpaws well. I'm laying the price with the Pirates on Thursday. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S NBA TOTAL SMACKDOWN! 26-6!
I'm playing the Under between the Bulls & Heat on Wednesday night. There's only one way Chicago can extend this series and that's if they "ugly up" the game beyond recognition. They understand this and the Bulls have one of the best coaches in the NBA in Tom Thibodeau, who'll have his team focused on the task. Chicago turns to the defensive end off an ugly loss as it is, going 10-1 to the Under following a double-digit home loss. Meanwhile, Miami likes to keep the "heat" on high on the defensive end off big wins. The Heat are 16-5 to the Under if they're at home and off a win by 15 points or more. That's a combined 26-6 mark and I believe the teams will play to the Under again. I'm playing the Under between the Bulls & Heat on Wednesday night. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S MLB DAYTIME DOMINATOR GOM! 37-8!
I'm playing the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday afternoon. Two things Tim Hudson likes the most both are "in play" on Wednesday. Hudson is a fantastic daytime pitcher and he "owns" the Arizona Diamondbacks. Since 2007, Hudson is 30-8 in 50 daytime appearances, including 49 starts, posting a 2.71 ERA & 1.13 WHIP. Hudson has a 7-0 lifetime record (37-8 combined spots) in nine starts against the Diamondbacks with a 1.33 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and a .198 BAA. This season's D'backs plate just 2.3 rpg in home day games against righthanders. Meanwhile, Ian Kennedy has struggled at Chase thus far in 2013 and I expect more of the same in this one. The Diamondbacks are 1-4 the last five times Kennedy has been a home favorite of -150 or smaller. The Braves enter on an 8-2 run when Hudson faces NL West opponents. They're 9-3 in their last 12 against Arizona and on a 5-0 run when Hudson faces the D'backs. I'm backing Atlanta on Wednesday. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S MLB AFTERNOON ANNIHILATOR! 18-6!
I'm backing the Texas Rangers on Wednesday afternoon. The Oakland A's were known for being a patient team at the plate, but not this season. The A's have struckout 294 times which is the 4th most in MLB. Their lack of patience at the plate will certainly help Alexi Ogando's cause. The Texas righty owns a 2.91 ERA in his last four starts. Meanwhile, the A's will send Dan Straily to the mound. The young righty has struggled thus far and he's allowed 15 earned runs in his last 15 IP and he has just 8 strikeouts in his last two starts to go along with 7 walks. I expect more problems for the A's who are just 2-7 in their last nine games and 0-4 as an underdog. Texas enters on an 8-2 run in their last 10 as a favorite when Ogando toes the rubber and they're on a 5-1 run in their last six. I'm backing the Rangers on Wednesday. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S MLB TUES KNOCKOUT! 17-6 Run!
I'm laying the price with the Cardinals on Tuesday night. Jake Westbrook has been placed on the D-L which opens the door for Cardinal lefty John Gast to make his Major League debut. Gast has dominated at Triple-A Memphis and will look to slam the door on the Mets' team that's won just 11 of their last 35 against southpaws. In fact, the Mets are on a 15-40 slide against teams with a winning record and the Cards are certainly that! St. Louis enters on an 11-2 run and they're 24-13, overall. The Redbirds will face badly struggling Dillon Gee. The New York righty has completed six innings in just one of his last six starts. He's been terrible on the road and I expect more problems for the hurler tonight. St. Louis takes care of business when they're supposed to, going 42-14 at home against teams with a sub-.400 road record. They're 18-6 at home against righties and 27-11 in their last 38 at home against the Mets. Finally, New York enters on a 4-17 slide as a road dog in a line range that includes tonight's, including 0-4 in this spot with Gee. I'm laying the price with the Cardinals. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S NBA TKO TUES SLAM DUNK! 6-0 Run!
I'm taking the points with the New York Knicks on Tuesday night. I had Indiana this past Saturday and we cashed in the Pacers 82-71 win. But I expect this one to go right to the wire with the road underdog Knicks covering the number at the very least. Mike Woodson expects "all hands on deck" for this one after a couple of players were under the weather on Sunday. And according to Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks are hungry rather than angry following Saturday's loss. Of course, it would make things easier if J.R. Smith gets back on track on the offensive end, however, it's not completely necessary. Remember, Smith made just 3-of-15 shots in New York's 105-79 win in Game 2. What the team needs is simply better looks for other players and I expect to see that after a couple of adjustments from Game 3. Woodson and his team have been strong at this of late, going 6-1 ATS off a SU loss. They're 10-4 ATS in their last 14 road games and they're on a 33-15 ATS run as a road dog of 6 points or less. I'm grabbing the points with the Knicks on Tuesday night. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.

SCOTT SPREITZER'S MLB BEATDOWN GOW! 16-6 Run!
I'm backing the Oakland A's as they return home on Monday night. The A's have slipped a bit after their strong start to the season, but they just finished a long road trip and will be glad to be home for the first time since May 1. Some teams struggle in this spot, but not the A's. Oakland is actually on a 13-3 run following a road trip of at least seven days. They have a big advantage on the mound tonight with Griffin over Grimm. And the Oakland hurler will face a Texas lineup that has plated only 3.5 rpg in road night games against righties since the start of the 2012 season! In fact, Oakland averages a full run more per game in home nights games against righties than Texas does in the aforementioned spot. Oakland enters on a 37-14 run against right-handed pitching and they're on a 7-0 run when Griffin starts against AL West opponents. The A's take care of business as a home favorite up to -150, going 43-19, while the Rangers are on a 6-18 slide as a dog up to +150. I'm laying the short price with the Oakland A's as they look to extend their run to 5-0 at home against Texas. The A's are the play on Monday night. Thanks! GL! Scott Spreitzer.
