March Madness is finally here and the brackets will be flying around offices throughout the Country soon! We released 3 free future wagers at the website at the beginning of the season. The teams we released were Wake Forest, Oklahoma State, and Mississippi State as candidates to win it all this year. Wake Forest and Oklahoma State have played up to our expectations and if Lawrence Roberts can gut it out down the stretch for Mississippi State, the Bulldogs should make it to the big tourney as well.

We have an additional team to add to the mix as we see real value in the way this team has come together down the stretch. We like HC Tom Izzo and the MICHIGAN STATE SPARTANS to make some noise in the tournament this year. At 25 to 1 in a few sports books, the Spartans are worth a look here as they are a tremendous free throw shooting team and have a very well balanced attack offensively. The Spartans can score in multiple ways and that is a major plus in tournament action as they will face various types of defenses. Michigan State has an impressive 20-5 record and they have played well on the road this season. Much of that is attributable to a great coach in Izzo and veteran leadership. Michigan State is shooting near 50% from the field this season and almost 80% from the charity stripe. Michigan State will measure up well with any team in the tournament and the "dance" this season will be wide open. Look for the Spartans to make a run this March!

As an added bonus, when the March Madness brackets come out, everyone will look for that #12 or #13 seed that can pull the upset. Here are a few "Dark Horse" teams you may want to consider when looking for a "diamond in the rough". The Pacific Tigers will come out of the Big West Conference with an impressive record (23-2 at the time of this article), but the seeding they will get will be a direct reflection of the level of competition they have played all season. Pacific is a classic case of a team you don't want to face in the tourney. The Tigers are a scrappy group of kids that play great defense and shoot the ball at a high percentage. Another team that will pose problems for anyone they face is Nevada. The emergence of Sophomore C Nick Fazekas (21 ppg and almost 10 rpg) will have the team that draws Nevada greatly concerned. The Wolfpack are currently 22-5 on the season and are a very talented team. The have only 2 seniors that contribute significant time, but they play with much more maturity than would be expected and we think they could make a run in the tourney as well. The third "dark horse" we like is Villanova. Granted, they are considered a "bubble team" by some but we feel they are a lock to get in following recent wins over Pitt and Boston College, two ranked squads. Unlike the previous two teams, Villanova has played a tough schedule and comes from a major conference. The Wildcats feature a strong defense and three solid scoring threats in Ray, Sumpter, and Foye. Strong guard play rounds out a Wildcat team that we feel could get deep into the tournament if the match ups fall into place for them. March Madness draws the attention of even the "casual fan" and the tournament is arguably the biggest event in sports not called the Super Bowl! This year will certainly be another exciting event as the field is wide open in our opinion! Thanks for reading and enjoy the Madness! We here at Players Advantage certainly will!
