“THE ROCKETMAN LINE” WEEK 3 College Football 2010 This week we will continue with our introduction to the “Rocketman Line.” This is the first time I’ve actually put all my Rocketman Line information out for public display. What is the Rocketman line? Glad you asked. I keep a running set of power ratings for each team in every sport. These are updated each day at the completion of the games. Since we’re talking College Football, I’ll use CFB as an example. I take my power ratings and compare the two teams who are facing each other adding a home field advantage of a little over 3 points. This creates the Rocketman Line. This is the start of my College Football Handicapping. From there I compare my Rocketman line against the Las Vegas number and look to see how they differ. Let’s get into the Rocketman line for all the College Football games this weekend and you can see what I’m talking about. Then you take these lines and compare them to the Las Vegas lines. Cincinnati by 1.75 Kansas by 6.5 California by 7.7 Arkansas Maryland Iowa State Ball State Northern Illinois Connecticut by 5.69 Ohio Kent State Georgia Tech by 1.07 Vanderbilt East Carolina San Diego State Tulsa Alabama by 23.25 Hawaii BYU Colorado State Florida by 13.46 Southern Cal by 11.75 Washington State Arizona State Nebraska by 4.73 Louisville Air Force Central Michigan by 15.11 Baylor Marshall Navy by 10.72 Central Florida by 4.24 Akron Toledo Clemson Texas by 4.59 Northwestern by 6.78 Mississippi State Utah by 27.3 Fresno State by 6.74 Notre Dame Boise State by 19.04 New Mexico State UNLV by 1.08 Iowa Houston by 5.15 Wake Forest Indiana by 11.27 North Texas Louisiana Monroe Florida International Middle Tennessee State by 6.52 Troy by 9.73 This will give you a little starting point for this weekend’s games. Keep in mind that a lot of factors go into handicapping a game, not just power ratings or the Rocketman Line. I have won 13 of 14 seasons in football with this being my 15th year in the business.
