Welcome to another exciting year of College Basketball with Great Lakes Sports. We will give you our predictions for the top 10 best teams in the country, and who we think will win the NCAA Championship Game. Let's "Drown Your Man" this College Basketball season, and as always good luck from Great Lakes Sports. Duke is our choice for the number one team in the country, as they will have 3 returning starters from a 27-6 team last season. The Blue Devils are led by led by senior guard J.J. Redrick who averaged 22 points per game last year. We look for the the Duke Blue Devils behind Coach Krzyzewski, to put it all together this year and with their athletic ability and depth Duke is our favorite to win it all. Michigan State will be our second choice to contend for national honors. The Spartans are loaded this year with 4 returning starters led by senior guard Maurice Ager who averaged 14 points per game last year. We look for Michigan State to win the Big 10 title, and with the Spartans tenious defense and solid perimiter shooting, Michigan State will make a lot of noise in the Big Dance. Texas will be incontention this year with three starters returning from a team that won 20 games last year, and could have a very solid season for coach Rick Barnes squad, the Longhornes are led by sophmore standout guard Daniel Gibson who averaged 14 points per game last year. Texas with a solid front court, and with their half court offense and solid defense should put them into the final four Arizona is a solid choice for number 4 in the country with solid guard play, and a solid recruiting class the Wildcats are led by another guard tandem in Hassan Adams 12 points per game, and Mustafa Shakur shooting almost 40% behind the three point line. This could be one of Head Coach Lute Olson better Arizona Wildcats teams in the last few years nad with their long range shooting, the Wildcats could last a while in the Big Dance. Kentucky is a sleeper, and could make some noise for Tubby Smith boys, with 3 returning starters back from last years 28-6 record, the Wildcats are young, and will take time to gel, but with the experience they gained last year this is a very strong Kentucky Basketball team. The Wildcats are very athletic and have all the tools to win the the SEC title this year. Kentucky is led by senior guard Patrick Sparks who averaged 11 points per game last year, and will also be a force with his three point shooting, we predict the Kentucky Wildcats number 5 in the country. Connecticut is our 6th choice, with 4 returning starters, the Huskies had a very nice season winning 23 games last year. Connecticut loves to play a up-tempo game, and play solid defense to force the opposition into many turnovers, and with their experience, and depth they will be contending for the Big East title, and with a little bit of luck the Huskies could go as far as the elite eight. Villanova is a solid choice for number 7 in the country with solid guard play led by Randy Foye, and Allen Ray, and with a solid recruiting class the Wildcats will have Big East Title hopes and with all five starters reurning from last years 24-8 team this could be Head Coach Jay Wright best Villanova team since he came ti Villanova four years ago. We look for a HUGE year from the Wildcats, and they could last a while in the Big Dance. Louisville Had a great season last year going 33-5, and going to the final four the Cardinals only return two starters last year team, but they had a lot of depth last year and shouldn’t skip a beat. Louisville are led by senior guard Taquan Dean who averaged 14 points per game last year, and with the Cardinals strong on the board, and with their depth we predict the Lousiville Cardinals number 8 in the country, and could make some noise in the Big Dance.. Oklahoma is our 9th choice in the country with 3 starters returning from a team that went 20-11 last year. The Sooners are led by senior forward Taj Gray who averaged 15 points per game last year. We look for the Oklahoma Sooners with their speed to run every chance they can, and make a lot of easy transition baskets, and with their depth of 9 to 10 deep, we look for Oklahoma to win a few games in the big Dance and with a little bit of luck Oklahoma could find themselves in the elite eight. Wake Forest is our 10th choice in the country, will have 2 returning starters from a 27-6 team last season. The Demon Deacons are led by sharpshooter Justin Gray, and center Eric Williams who both averaged 16 points per game last year. We look for the the Wake Forest Demon Deacons behind Coach Skip Prosser, to put it all together this year and if they can get the ball to bounce their way a couple of times, they will have a chance to be in the to go far in the Big Dance.. This is Great Lakes Sports predictions for our top 10 teams in the country, and who could make some noise in the Big Dance.
