Welcome t o another exciting Conference Tournament this year. We here at Great Lakes Sports Will give you a preview of the contenders in the SEC Conference Tournament, and Great Lakes Sports would like to wish you good luck this upcoming conference tournament season. SEC Contenders: Kentucky – The Kentucky Wildcats are having an outstanding year going 29-2 heading in to conference tournament action. The Wildcats are led first team all-defensive team Patrick Patterson, SEC Freshman player of the year DeMarcus Cousins, and SEC player of the year and soon to be a NBA lottery pick Freshman John Wall. The Kentucky Wildcats had a very young team with first year head coach John Calipari but has gained the knowledge and motivation from one of the elite coaches in all of College Basketball. We look for the Kentucky to use their athleticism and depth to roll in the SEC tournament this year. The Wildcats will have even bigger fish to fry as they could win the NCAA tournament this year. Tennessee – The Tennessee Volunteers are on a nice run going into the SEC Conference tournament winning five out of their last six games. The Vols are led by 6’7" Senior Guard Scotty Hopson 13.1ppg, and 6’9" Senior Forward Wayne Chism 6.8rpg. The Tennessee Volunteers can come at you at a variety of ways, and that is what makes them so dangerous. We look for The Tennessee Volunteers to make some noise in the SEC tournament but they lack the depth to hang with the Kentucky Wildcats, and that’s why we will call for them to be the second best team in the SEC tournament. Mississippi State – The Mississippi State Bulldogs have a very solid 21-10 record this season, but have lost two in a row. The Bulldogs are only 9-7 in conference play and will need a solid showing in the SEC tournament or they will not make it to the Big Dance. The Mississippi State Bulldogs do have the experience to get to the Big Dance but they do lack the depth and athletic ability to win the SEC tournament but we like their solid defense, which will keep them in games, and we will call for The Mississippi State Bulldogs to be the third best team in the SEC Conference tournament. Florida. - The Florida Gators are another team sitting on the bubble for this year’s NCAA tournament. The Gators have a respectable 20-11 record but is only 9-7 in the conference, and will need a great showing to make it to the Big Dance. The Florida Gators are led by 6’2" Freshmen Guard Kenny Boynton 13.5ppg, and scoring points will not be a problem with the Gators having five guys averaging in double figures. We look for the low post play of the Florida Gators to be their demise, and we here at Great Lakes Sports will call the Florida Gators to be the fourth best team in the SEC Conference tournament this year. This is a look at the SEC Conference tournament this year.
