Welcome to another exciting College Football season and we here at Great Lakes Sports will give our top ten predictions on who we think will win the NCAA championship, and as always good luck this season from Great Lakes Sports.

  1. USC- The Trojans are loaded this year with six starters back on offense led by heisman candidate John David Booty. USC also has almost everybody back on defense with ten starters back. This could be one of the more balance USC team Pete Carroll has had in quite sometime. We look for the Trojans to run the table, and play LSU in the NCAA championship game in the Sugar Bowl.

  1. LSU- This year’s LSU team has six starters back on offense led by last year’s capable back up in Matt Flynn who will be this year starter. The Tigers also has eight starters back on defense led by a huge defense line. We look for LSU to score enough points, and with their stellar defense they will join USC for the NCAA title in New Orleans.

  1. West Virginia- The Mountaineers is returning seven starters on offense, and eight starters on defense including their QB Pat White, and heisman candidate in RB Steve Slaton. We look for a solid running game, and a pretty easy non conference schedule will vault West Virginia to number 3 in the country.

  1. Michigan- The Wolverines are loaded on offense with six starters coming back led by Senior QB Chad Henne who passed for 2,743 completing 60% of his passes, Michigan also has a solid running game in Mike Hart 1,455yds, and leading WR in Mario Manningham who averaged over 18yds a catch. The Wolverines could have their problems on defense with only four starters back, and are very young on the defensive side of the ball. We look for the Wolverines to end up number four in the country.

  1. Texas- The Longhorns will return seven starters on offense, and six starters on defense led by sophomore QB Colt McCoy who passed for 2,570yds, and completing 68% of his passes as a freshman. Texas will have tough home games with a pesky TCU team, and a much improved Nebraska team. We look for the Longhorns to end up 10-2, and number five in the country.

  1. Virginia Tech- The Hokies are returning eight starters back on offense, and eight starters back on defense from a team that went 10-3 last year. Virginia Tech has a solid junior QB in Sean Glennon 2,191yds last year; the Hokies have a  pretty easy non conference schedule except for a trip to Baton Rouge to face LSU. We look for the Hokies to go 9-3, and wind up number six in the country.

  1. Wisconsin- The Badgers did lose their QB last year but has nine starters back on offense led by sophomore running back in PJ Hill who rushed for 1,569yds last year, and was Big 10 freshman of the year. Wisconsin does have seven starters back on defense, and the Badgers have a very easy non conference schedule playing UNLV, and The Citadel. We look for the Badgers to contend for the Big 10 title, and end up number seven in the country.

  1. Florida- The Gators have six returning starters on offense led by sophomore QB in Tim Tebow who has the experience coming in for QB Chris Leak last year. The Gators do have their problems on defense with only two starters back; they do have a favorable schedule with home game with Tennessee, and Auburn. We look for the Florida Gators to go to the SEC championship game, and will be number eight in the country.

  1. Florida State- The Seminoles return six starters on offense, and eight starters on defense led by junior QB in Drew Weatherford who has passed for 5,362yds the last two years. Florida State does have tough road games with Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Florida they could win two of the three, but we look for Florida State to go 9-3, and number nine in the country.

  1.  Oklahoma- The Sooner’s will return eight starters on offense, and seven on defense from a team that went 11-3 last year, and a was upset against Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. Oklahoma does have all their tough games at home with Miami Florida, Missouri, and Texas A&M. We look for the Oklahoma Sooner’s to end up number ten in the country.

This is Great Lakes Sports College Football Preview for the 2007-2008 season, and good luck this up coming Football season.
